the real answer to that's each body understanding the price of teaching, severe wondering, and attending to understand skills, so as that we are able to easily %. from the accurate scoring applicants without regard to their race or gender. Affirmative action has created a lot unwell will between human beings because each body nowdays questions wether or no longer someone able were given it because they're particularly qualified, or did they get it because of their race, and so on? i'm with you - i'd particularly basically see them settle for the accurate scorers on some thing in spite of who they're, doing in the different case basically lowers the criteria and we finally end up having a group of human beings that're no longer the finest at their occupation Addressing your unique question - i do not see them taking away AA every time quickly, possibly sometime at the same time as issues get so undesirable that no longer some thing can get finished because human beings basically don't know what they're truly doing anymore, when we as a society are starting to be so dumbed down that maximum of the particularly wise human beings are on the outdoors searching in, and the human beings in all of those specialist positions are their psychological inferiors..... a kind of "The Marching Morons" (by ability of C. M. Kornbluth) problem, in case you bear in options that tale from the Nineteen Fifties, about a destiny society the position the everyday IQ replaced into about 40 5, and the overall public couldn't think of their way out of a damp paper bag - the small handful of human beings that kept that society operating were a tiny team of overworked, unrecognized and despised those who spent all their time correcting mess-united statesand tried to save society operating

When they created affirmative action laws, the proponents of the laws said that they would only be needed for around 20 to 25 years. It has now been 40 years and there is no end in sight.
As long as blacks seek "proportional representation" in certain fields, affirmative action will always be necessary. There is a 15 point difference in average IQ between blacks and whites. Because of this, blacks will always be underrepresented in jobs that require high levels of intelligence if affirmative action did not exist and merit was the sole criteria used for hiring.

Here's the issue. It was only thirty years ago that "red-lining" was taken off the books. Thirty years ago is not a long time. That means that the effects are still alive.(red-lining meaning only allowing people of a certain color to live in a certain area) Our America has created a cultural value that keeps us in power and devalues all that is African-American. So it becomes more unnatural for an African-American or another minority to break through. So, unfortunately we have to create these unnatural mechanisms in society to help minorities to break through- to give them an unnatural jump start.
As an admission committee you might unnaturally be continuing racist thought unknowingly. You might do this by the criteria you choose to allow someone in your school to cater predominantly to white students. If you say that you like people who go to private schools, well some African-American students come from the inner city where that was not possible. Or say you like well-rounded kids- who play sports and music. Well, someone applying played basketball and writes and performs rap. You don't consider rap a valid form of music and so say that he is not well-rounded. See what I'm saying... part of the problem is that ingrained in us as society are values that naturally push forward white people and devalue minorities- It is unfortunate that we still need Affirmative Action, but I think it's good it'll be here for a while.

It's part of the dumbing down of America to lower requirements for institutions of higher education instead of offering supplemental training to bring people up to par.
Affirmative Action is a very strong plank in the Democratic Platform. I think it will be with us until the Supreme Court finally strikes it down as unconstitutional.

When whites start to treat minorities as equals, then when can get rid of it. But instead of treating Blacks as equals some whites find other racist ways to keep blacks from coming up. Just because people aren't openly running around calling us the n word, doesn't mean that there isn't racism in this country in a lot of places.

Of course not. If they did then those affected would have to actually get educated and EARN what they are now given. There is nothing I hate worse than needing a professional like a Dr. and sit there wondering if they got in school because they had to let them in.

I was turned down for advancement where my qualifications exceeded the "Black guy's". And the employer told me flat out, because I was white and they needed a black person qualified or not. I was on a big project...I quit and let them decipher all I did.
