I work for a county government. I get incorrect child support garnishments from the state Child Support Enforcement Office frequently. Is your b/f paying support or having it taken out of his wages? If not, it probably is an error that he'll have to correct over and over again. I'd ask--is the date of birth right? Is the ss number right? If all those things match him, you have reason to be suspicious--but I still see mistaken orders with even that information appearing correcting. BTW-although I do not live there, I get a lot of mistakes from California and when I call to verify some of the offices do not even accept phone calls (wierd, isn't it?)

Do you have access to his bank account or pay stubbs. Can he prove to you he's not paying child support? The fact he keeps getting these makes it sound like it does have a child somewhere and if so, you should encourage him to step up and act like a parent even if just on the weekends.
It is however also a possibility of identity theft...all too common now...so don't jump to conclusions but just calmly ask him again and say you want to get it out in the open and over and done with once and for all.
