I have a question about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Do you remember when Cedric Diggory says that he had help with the egg clue (at the end when they're trying to decide who should get the trophy)? Harry says "You helped me with that egg!" And Cedric says "Yeah, but I had help on that, too!"
My question is, who helped him? Any guesses or theories? Do you think J.K. Rowling will reveal it in the last book? I don't think so, since it's not that important, so who helped Cedric Diggory with his 'wailing egg' clue?

It wasn't Moaning Myrtle, she helped Harry a little by telling him what Cedric had done, but she just watched Cedric and didn't help him.
My brother thinks it was Mad Eye Moody, who helped Harry because he wanted him to get to the end and new Cedric would tell him. Anyone agree with that theory?

I really don't think it was Myrtle, because then it would be:
Moody told Myrtle told Cedric told Harry. That's not very convenient for Moody to go into a girl bathroom just to tell Myrtle. I don't think Myrtle helped Harry, really...probably was Mad Eye Moody, though.

nope, it was mad-eye moody, who was actually Bartimus Crouch Jr while he was drinking polyjuice potion. He says so when he has Harry all alone after he came back through the portkey with Cedric's body after the duel with Voldemort. They also show it in the movie.

It was Mad Eyed Moody who helped. He wanted to give Cedric a reason to help Harry, thus insuring Harry going on in the games.

Yup, I agree with everyone else. Mad-eye Moony (impersonated by young Barty Crouch) was the man who offered assistance to Cedric. If he hadn't helped Cedric, who in turn helped Harry, then Harry never would have won the Tournament and faced Voldemort.

It was Mad Eye. He even tells Harry at the end after Cedric dies. Check the book again.

I don't really think it was Myrtle. Barty Crouch Jr. was the one. I remember reading about it after the tournament was over. Maybe you could read it, too.
I don't think J.K. Rowling will reveal it in the last book, because she already revealed it in the fourth book! lol

It was Crouch (the son), who was disguised as Mad-Eye; he told Harry all the ways he'd tried to help after he got out of the maze.Ex. Given the book to Nevile that mentioned gillyweed, then told Dobby to get it to him when he didn't get the hint. Read the end!
