"Matanda" (old), "mayaman" (wealthy), and "madaling mamatay" (near death).

Unfortunately, some Filipinas have a reputation for seeking such men (especially from America and Europe). That way, while he's still here, she will be supported and respected - and, soon, he will be gone, leaving his money to her and her family rather than to previous children or a first wife.

My Filipina girlfriend is not that way, but I have to admit that I have had lingering thoughts that it could be true since I am older than she, financially better off, and a professional man. I don't think I'm near death, though. Then, I put these thoughts aside when I know she has never asked me for money and has actually refused it.

Mr. Tyler, You have your answer.

Don't make this concept keep you suspicious of your filipina woman.

This is a good food for thought.
I know many more hidden alterior motives hidden inside evil seductive women.
Its not just filipina women, these kind of women are all over the world.

Your first responder hit the bulls eye.
Watch the discovery channel and learn how the snake studies its victim.

Its a good reality check.

M.M.M.M. aka the Anna Nicole Smith syndrome--admittedly applies to some Filipinas (non-blond, non-white, non-Americans) as well.
