I'm 13 turning 14 in July and I just want a job to go shopping around and stuff. If I have my workers permit and all that good stuff can I apply at fast food restaurant such as Mcdonalds, Burger King etc. etc.

Any help will be appreciated!

See the youth labor laws link I'm posting.
You will be able to legally work with limited hours, however, in the restaurant setting, you will be prohibitied from using hazardous equipment such as electric slicers.

I do not know if McDonalds or Burger King use electric slicers though, I have always believed everything to be premade / presliced..

Depends on the state. Some say you have to be 15. Just ask when you apply. Remember, under 16 cannot work in the grill, or cook fries. You can only take orders and clean the lobby.

Good luck

It depends on where you live. Where I live you can at least be 15 (yay! for me! in May lol). But that's because I live Ft. Lauderdale. And if I were you work somewhere like Publix, (here you can be 14), because the foods you love at McDonalds...and Burger King. You won't exactly love them anymore once you find out how it's made!!

well i work at BK and they usually hire at 15. from wat i kno other fast food places also hire 15 some probably 14. I dont know about NY but in NJ you're limited 2 certain things that you can do in fast food like if you're under 16 you cant work in the back making food or work past 7 on a schoolnight. basically all you can do is work cashier. i would suggest enjoying your freedom now and worry about working wen ur 15 or somethin.

hope i was helpful. good luck in the job hunt :)

There is no technical age, but there may be requirements depending on your exact age and everything.

Trust me, wait till' your 15 or 16, its honestly not worth it or just get a job anywhere else BESIDES a fast food establishment. Its hell. I work at Mc.Donalds and today I spent my entire 7 hour shift making fries!! My hand is soooo sore and it really sucks.

I live upstate...you have to be 16 here....but seriously don't do it....I worked at Wendy's and it was the worst thing ever...especially during "rushes"-the managers get really pissy and all they do is scream at you...it really sucks...you'd be better off in a supermarket or something....thats what I'm doing

If you get a work permit from your school district, usually you can work at 14. Call your school district office and ask how to get a work permit.
