Wouldn't it look better on his administration if their testimony could be used in a court of law? Doesn't he realize how bad he is making himself look? Just what is so secretive? Why can't their testimony even be transcribed for future reference?

That would be the White House Staff your refering to and you and I know the deal. The White House can't distance itself far enough from this scandal. Another report out today details how the Justice Department intervened in the Gov't case against the Tobacco Companies to coerce witness testimony and back off on the extent of reparations the lead prosecutor was pursuing. At the rate this scandal is going, we might as well send a Judge to the White House and the Justice Department, gather up all the employees in a large room, and swear them all in at the same time, because they are all bound to end up in front of a Congressional Committee in the near future.

Sweetheart, you do realize that there is nothing illegal about these attorney's being fired, right?

The Slick One did it in 1993... all 93 of them. Where was your outrage?

US Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president. Nothing illegal happened. This fishing expedition is just another attempt by the Democrat congress to cripple the Bush Presidency. Nothing more, nothing less. If you actually knew this you wouldn't be posting these questions.

Accountability, resposibility -- or lack of.

What hes actually trying to do is salvage what little he can for his party. Everyone knows hes full of it -- he knows everyone knows hes full of it, but hes smart to try to keep any links to him -- thats why HE nor his attorney general dont use emails.

He needs to try to appease the republican party as well, which hes starting to have question him.
because now they have to worry about next elections.

But do we really think this president who #1 refused to servce patriotically in Vietnam yet forces todays soldiers to do somethign he didnt have the stomach for??

Bush has always been just a rich little boy who cares not about America but about himself

MATT -- Clinton didnt fire all those US attorneys to impede investigations against his party...so stop trying to cloud the issue by pasing the buck.

Unfortunately, when the Democrats swept so many offices from the Republicans, there was ONE they didn't get. But that election is right around the corner, and Bush can go be a thorn in the side of Crawford, Texas.

im wondering why it was acceptable for clinton to fire 93 but now we must have massive, expensive, and lengthy debates and congressional hearings because a few were fired, despite the fact that they serve at the pleasure of the president. go figure, liberals are gonna do whatever they can to destroy their chances in 08.

Probably that they conspired to replace attorneys without senate approval so they could engage in ideological purges, defeating the purpose free elections.

Remember, we are talking about George W. Bush. He is not the brightest bulb in the bunch. All he knows is what his "brain" Karl Rove tells him, and Karl Rove is telling him to save his hide. I don't think Bush is gonna win this one. I think his brain is toast.
