i have been offered AMD athlon64 3500 computers by a retailer for my internet cafe. No games. Is it worth it?

Those will be good for several years. As long as your not installing games on them you are getting a good investment....

I highly recommend 64-bit for internet. The speed is obvious compared to my Intel 32 box when they are both accessing the same page off the internet. You get 64-bit to slam the files. Then, it becomes a question of the OS and the browser. I run Linux 64 with the 32-bit Firefox -- customized for 64-bit (to get Flash, java, etc). If you install XP 32, then you won't see much gain at all.

If its for internet only, then the internet connection matters most. If you intend to put games, then its somewhat okay for games below 2006 to some games on 2006
