how much ram for core 2 duo ?

Question

which option is recommanded for for 2 duo my motherboard is intel DG965WH which supports upto 8 GB and has 4 slot.
2 x 1 GB DDR 667
or
4 x 512 MB DDR 667
explain please.

I think that it is worth getting 2 x 1GB as it is the same amount as the other and uses up 2 slots as the other takes up 4. If you go for 4 x 512, that means a total of 2GB as all slots are taken. Now 2 x GB gives the same amount using up half the slots so there is space for more ram if needed. So 2 x 1 GB will be more beneficial

two slots for a 1gb stick of RAM or four slots for a 512 mb stick of RAM I'd go for the gig.

Go for 2x1GB, you will have room to add more, if you use 4x512, then later adding memory will meant removing the ones already inside to make room.
