Could you publish your web to the world without using any web hosting service?

1. Install a web server on your personal computer.
(Apache for Mac, IIS for Windoze)
2. Get a dynamic domain name from www.dyndns.org
3. Open up your firewall, or router to the world

You can use your home computer if you have broadband. I have done it since 1998. dyndns.org is a great resource.
