I would recommend, Metroid Prime:Hunters, Elite Beat Agents, Trauma Center, Phoenix Wright, New Super Mario Brothers, Brain Age, Castlevania, Clubhouse Games, and Final Fantasy 3. Regarding Nintendogs, http://www.gamewinners.com/nds/NintendogsShibaAndFriends.htm

Well the me and my girlfriend both has DS's "Mines black and hers is pink lol".But we enjoy playing Mario Kart DS.Its very fun and you only need one copy of the game to play with another DS.Of course you need to be within a reasonable distance for the DS to pick up the signal of the other. Now also the New Super Mario Bro's for DS is good fun as well. The best I think since Super Mario64.You can play multiplayer on there the same as Mario Kart.I do not however have Nintendogs my girl friend wants it though.Sorry I couldn't answer that latter of the two questions you asked but I hope I helped with your search for some games.
