I recently ran into the sister of a boyfriend I had 17 years ago, she commented that her family had always wished that I'd married her brother! This has blown me away because I've been separated 6 months and have always had wonderful memories of him. I know that his marriage has been difficult and that it is over now too. I'm a bit unsure about what it all means!!!

It all means that his family, always liked you and thought you would make an excellent wife for their son/brother. He apparently had other ideas. DON"T go jump into another relationship just now. Not good for you or him. Start slow and easy with no pressure. Rebound relationships rarely work out.

This is usually because they feel that you were the best thing for their son. Maybe he has made some foolish or bad decisions in life with women and other things and they feel that you would have been good for him. Because his marriage is over now this could be one of the biggest reasons why they feel this way. They may feel that if you had been the one to marry him he still may be happily married and not divorced or seperated by now. This is just how they feel. My inlaws love me and are so glad i married their son as they feel i am the best thing that every happened to him:)

My dear! This is all about nolstagia. They now feel that it would have been easier for their son if he had married you and probably, you would not have also had a troubled and seperated marriage so, everything is all about sweet memories.

However, if fate throws both of you together, you might consider giving it a try and it might work. Do not please, expect this one to be radically different from the first one if you are not prepared to change your attitudes to marriage.

It means that their son married some loser, and now that they safely feel that they can come out in the open about it, they are! They always wished it's be you instead of dingdong and theyre finally letting you know-that's all! Surface value..nothing you can do now, move on!

It means things have been screwed up with the marriage, and they wished you would have married him and things would have been better. Thats it. Doesn't take too much reading into.

Jus going out on a limb here, but I think it means "they always wished you married her brother," like your a better choice than the loser he did marry.

What does it sound like it means? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

it means they would have preferred you, and given the chance now, you are still welcome in their family.
