amazing how a horrific lead singer which such dribble for lyrics and terrible music can become so big. the fact that this guy talks about helping others yet moves to not pay his fair share of taxes shows you he is two faced too. hios ego matches his lack of tax paying meaning way out of control.

If U2 is considered daft I would like to know what you classify some of the trash circulating on the airwaves these days.
I think U2 is a great band. They have stood the test of time, re-invented themselves time and time again, been unique, raised awareness to meaningful causes, produced great songs that have appealed to all generations, wrote their own songs and looked cool while the did it.
I will take U2 and their 'samey songs' any day over the Lindsay Lohans of the world.

Um...No. May not be your personal cup of tea, but overrated they are not. Edge created his own unique sound on guitar, a sound emulated by half of today's popular rock bands. They've been around since the 70s, with their first studio album released in 1980 and have always managed to stay relevant.

They successfully reinvent themselves with each album. They never get themselves in a rut. How many of today's popular bands can you say that about? How many of today's popular bands will still be around in 27 years' time? I'm betting I could count them all on one hand and I probably wouldn't even need to use all my fingers.

On top of their awesome sound, they have great social conscience. They actually STAND for something and their music reflects that. It's not even just about that, but it's the JOY the feel when they play. Anybody who's ever been to a U2 concert can attest to this. These are four guys who honestly love and respect one another and one can't help but share in that joy.

YOU may find them annoying, but overrated...NEVER!

Viva U2!

U2, Beatles, Led Zep, ACDC, and many others. They're no longer that enormously gifted to supply them an excessive amount of credit score. It's simply occurred that of their time, they've few opponents, which might cause them to sound so heavenly saintly extraordinary! If we are going to appear at Led Zeppelin's works like Stairway To Heaven, it does not excel and is beautiful "mediocre" and "general" whilst in comparison to the works of a few bands at present like Opeth (whose riffs are way more intricate and various than Led Zep's) Well, that is simply my opinion! No offense!!

I guess you're only saying that because basically, YOU DON'T LIKE U2 AND THEIR MUSIC. Look this way, anti-Madonna people will never ever appreciate Madonna and her brand of songs and antics even if she sticks around for the next millenium. Just the same with you. So, enough the question and just admit yourself that you will never ever like Bono and his band.

U2 is a strange band to me. I start to like them and then they do something like "Beautiful Day" and it's so overplayed that I don't like them.

Don't even get me started on the histrionics of Bono.

I think they are fairly overrated but their lyrics are beautiful and they change it up occasionally....

First of all , it's "Is U2 one of the...." and overrated? Hardly! They are one of the best bands EVER. You must be like 15 or something...shoo, shoo! Go on little one, go listen to your Backalley Boys or Avril Latrine and don't try and talk about something you obviously know nothing about. In the words of your Boys ...."Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye"

Ooops, my bad...that's NSTINK..oh well, same sh*t, different pile!

They pioneered their sound before it was popular and they are still very recognizable just by sound. Few bands are able to stand out from the crowd like they do.
