Well being a TOP CONTRIBUTOR you should already know the answer. BUT I will still answer this for you. The reason they do this is so KIDS will be as KIDS will be all so often eat the hot dog and NOT the bun. This way you are NOT wasting the bun. Also another reason is sometimes the person doing the cooking WILL eat a hot dog right off the grill, and yes this is without the bun. So the logic behind this is there will be enough dogs for an equal amount of buns.

Just like you can get an 8-pack of hot dogs and a 6-pack of buns.

While we're at it, how about the fact that bread and cheese are square and lunch meat is round. (yes i know some lunch meat is squared)

Or why is one a clock and the other is a watch yet they do the same thing?

Orrrrrrrrrr, my very favorite... why the heck did Adam trust Eve and eat the apple? He should have known that were are manipulative and sly... but noooo, he had to eat the apple and now we're left being homicidal once a month. LOL

its so they the hot-dog and the bun companies can make a lot of money to even it all out you would have to buy 8 packs or hot-dogs and 10 packs buns, and like who would ever go out at one time and buy that may hot-dogs? you know besides like boy scouts or girl scouts on their way to a jamboree thingy.

*I really wanted to say what the animanics said to the guru goat when he asked them that same question but I couldn't remember that far back, sorry*

I think it is a way to increase sales. if they sale one pack of hot dogs, then you have to buy not one but two packs of buns.
