According to Gallup's monthly update on job approval of Congress -- in a March 11-14, 2007, national poll -- 28% of Americans approve of the job being done by Congress and 64% disapprove.

Congress gets much lower ratings than Bush. Why?
Because they have done NOTHING since taking power-- with the exception of non-binding resolutions and political witchhunts.
America will not stand for this much longer.

I think that partisanship and in-fighting in politics are ruining this country. Nobody trusts anybody. This new Congress is like junior high. No wonder people are disgusted. We have a lot of trash to take out, come election day.

It is amazing how America can be so impatient. So now people expect the Democrats to solve all the country's problems in a few months? I don't have loyalty to either party, and just hope that they can work together so the nation can move forward. Which one of us does not want the troops home as soon as possible? Withdrawing immediately will be chaotic. Setting deadlines benefits the enemies. Instead of constantly fighting and raising the moral of enemies, Republicans should focus on the Iraq/Iran situation, while Democrats should deal with domestic issues. They both are doing something. People demanded accountability. Education is being dealt with. Credit card companies are being pursued. The IRS is more stringent on fraud. Congress got people like Bill Gates to talk about national interest. If public would adopt the new $1 coin, it could save money in the long run. Americans need to be more patient, cut down a little on the blame and complaints, and show more responsibility. Examples? Why do some people need so many credit cards? Why take out a mortgage when you can't afford it or have bad credit? Why public outcry when the President asked the nation to conserve gasoline? Why not accept coins that can be recycled, lasts longer, and lower expense in longterm? Why protest war when troops are already right in front of danger? This is what happens in a spoiled society, where people can return/exchange merchandise without thought to how that affects business. Here is the perfect solution to our problems. America needs to seriously GROW UP.

Because outside of Yahoo Answers its not about Democrats verses Republicans. This isn't some low life pay per view wrestling match. Americans are tired of the war. We want out in overwhelming numbers. 60% to 70% of all Americans support some form of immediate troop withdrawal. I would assume that the 64% who do not approve are the same 64% that want out of the war, I'm so tired of the neo-conservatives and pinko-liberals hiding behind the outdated titles of party. If you look at all of the consensus polls collectively you will see that the 70% of Americans that are normal and moderate want the 30% of Americans who are extremists to shut up.

democrats believe they got a mandate and americans want them to be dictators and run the country without any say from the president. the fools are going to blow their shot in 08 and make pelosi's stay as the speaker an extremely short one.

However what you fail to realize is that before the Dems took over the approval ratings for the Repubs was 21%.

In fact according to Gallup, the Repub lead congress didn't get over 30% for the past several years, so I fail to see your point.

Maybe that is why the President said it would be regrettable if the Dems went after subpoenas for his upper level staffers.

They're so busy trying to get our troops out of Iraq and open the US front door so the terrorists can come here, that they forgot to take care of that little problem called fuel prices!

I haven't stood for it at all, nevertheless much longer. Good post, it's good to see someone write the truth. Thanks!!
