Im considering getting it, are there any side effects? do you get regular periods? do u still get PMT? can it make you put weight on? any females got it? would u recommend it?

I had a five year implant put in my arm a good few years ago now, and ended up having it removed after a year as I bled CONSTANTLY for a whole year!!!!! It works for some people though.

I just had my second put in yesterday.
I love it! Its perfect for me as I'm very forgetful and am useless with the pill.
I did put on a little weight when I had my first on out in, but I was not careful and there were a couple of other factors like stopping a physiacl job at the same time.
I had a small amount of mood swings at first, but only like PMT, and that didn't last long at all.
I didn't have a period for the first year, then I started getting them back, but not very often and much less painful. Also little or no PMT. I had my fist proper period last week, in three years (my old implant ran out) and I couldn't believe how much it hurt and how grumpy I got. I had forgoten beacuse it was so long.
When on it my periods were my lighter and shorter. Hardly any cramps or PMT.
Some of the things I have said may seem off putting, but they are really worth it. The benifits definatly out weigh the bad points!

yes i have got and would recommend it to everyone .
side affect:
weight again/loss either way could go
moods sometimes
could have period like regular or one a year or none
i have had it in for a year now only had 2 periods on it became moody for first few months and had 3 weeks period but once over that bit everything is really good i have no pains when i do have period well if you can call it one
but it is the best thing i have ever used and i'm looking about doing the 5 year one once i have finished this 3 year one

I've had it for 2 and a half years and I think it's the dogs. I dont really get mood swings or bad pains. The only thing is that I hardly ever get periods and they have never really regulated. Dont mind though, it's the most simple thing to get as it lasts 3 years and I reckon hardly getting periods is a bonus!
The other thing is sometimes they only last 3 days, goes away for a couple of days and then comes back for a week. I then wont have it for 3 months etc...
That could be just me though! I think it's better.

I have the Implant, 100% affective I have been told. I have a monthly light bleed and I am a big girl and it works fine on me. The Depo Provera Injection makes you put on weight not the Implanon.

had the injection, bled for a while at first until it had settled down. Its did make me put a small amount of weight on but not alot.
