Well, the Beatles were the BIGGEST thing in the 60s (and still now!) and those girls were so HAPPY that they got to see the Beatles live!!! It's very emotional from love, shock, and many other things. But I don't understand why that young girl was crying during Sanjaya's performance. He's nothing to get emotional about.

I can only guess that is because they are overwhelmed with emotion in seeing their idols. These young girls build up very real emotions and become attached to the ideas and fantasies they have of them. When they are faced with the real life person the only way they can express it is by screaming and crying. It is just a sign of their maturity, or lack there of. Thank god they grow out of it.
I must add that the reason some of us never went through that is because we see them as normal humans that make good music (although AI is debatable). They don't. They believe the hype, buy into the commercialism of it all, and transfix on every part of these bands or singers. It can become pretty unhealthy really.

You havnt been to a decent concert then have you or you are an adult. Are you really female because if you where then you would know that its a fact that females are sensitive and expressive creatures. males on the otherhand have trouble expressing themselves which is where the display of macho-ness comes in. girls, and i use the word "girls" are not only emotional beings but young girls in particular (such as the ones that attend concerts and television shows) become overwhelmed with what they are witnessing and usually cry, scream and wave their arms about becuace they are expressing and extreme and uncontrolable emotion. A male experiencing similar feelings will either keep quiet, yell out 'yeah'! with their fists in the air or pick a fight with his mate or an unsuspecting innocent bystander. enough said.

Maybe it's because they see talent and they are intimidated by it. They loved this music and to see the person actually singing it is like a dream come true. If your dream, your biggest dream of all time (whether it be having millions, living in a mansion, whatever it may be) if it came true wouldn't you be so happy you wanted to cry? Maybe not but I think that's how those little girls feel.

lol I've never been that emotional either but I can kinda understand why they'd cry...if you really really love a band and you've been following them for months, maybe years, and then you finally get to see them in person-it's a big deal because they've become total idols for you and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity...if I met my favourite bands I'd probably cry and make a total idiot of myself too lol :D

Because there was this new type of music that was amazing and there were 4 cute boys they could pick from, it wasn't like there was just one anymore (elvis). Just hearing there music made girs go crazy becasue they wanted the 4 guys they wanted them to see them and they wanted to touch them so all they could do was cry and scream.

I dunno about crying, but as a man music has spoken to my soul and made me feel any range of emotions. Maybe it's tears of joy because they are finally seeing a band that means something to them in real life.
