Here are your top ten reasons:

1. Gaypeople are effeminate and flamboyant.
2. Gaypeople speak with a lisp.
3. Gaypeople make everyone feel uncomfortable.
4. Gaypeople are extremely sexually predatory, and they definitely can't stop thinking about sex, not even for a yoctosecond.
5. Gaypeople will come on to straight guys that want nothing to do with them.
6. Gaypeople will feminize the military
7. Gaypeople will weaken the military.
8. Gaypeople are weak.
9. Gaypeople will behave outlandishly and outrageously inappropiate (drag queenish) when it come to serious matters such as combat and maneuvering tactics.

Interesting question......full of crap of course, but interesting, now permit me to address each of your so called 'reasons'

1. Gaypeople are effeminate and flamboyant.

Well clearly you haven't met many gay Marines of which there are many, but by all means go up to them tell them.....

2. Gaypeople speak with a lisp.

I never have and never will, nor do most gay men.

3. Gaypeople make everyone feel uncomfortable.

Only closet cases like you boy......

4. Gaypeople are extremely sexually predatory, and they definitely can't stop thinking about sex, not even for a yoctosecond.

Excuse me then why are 98% of all peadophiles and child molestors heterosexual.....like you...

5. Gaypeople will come on to straight guys that want nothing to do with them.

This statement is so inane it defies response.

6. Gaypeople will feminize the military

Tell that to the Israelis because obviously they have a wussy army.

7. Gaypeople will weaken the military.

Some the strongest armies of the ancient world consisted mostly of gays and were lead by them. Sparta, Rome...Caesar and Alexander.....to name but two.

8. Gaypeople are weak.

Tell that to all the gay men and women fighting and dying in Iraq while a coward like you sits at home comfortably far from battle.

9. Gaypeople will behave outlandishly and outrageously inappropiate (drag queenish) when it come to serious matters such as combat and maneuvering tactics.

LOL that's all I can do on this one......

10. The U.S military will become an embarrassment, and America will be humiliated.

Sorry, George W. Bush did that for you already, don't blame gays for that one......

Who else can list 10 more reasons why "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" should continue to stand as current policy?

Only Right Wingnut cowards who talk the talk but can't walk the walk.......

I am in the military and honestly don't see the issue with it (I am married, btw).

But I think the problem most have with it is that during training and deployments and such guys are all really close together and don't think that it would be best if there was an openly homosexual person showering or in close quarters for the fear that the person might want to do something with another. Also, with the way homophobia is rampant these days, it would probably be detrimental to the person who is a homosexual. They could end up being hurt or killed by their fellow servicemembers at the highest extreme, and avoided and made an outcast at the very minimum.

How ridiculous and sad that stereotypes are all you could come up with. as an HONORABLY discahrged vet that went through the days before don't ask don't tell and it's intital inception, I noticed one thing- There were just as many of us Gays in the military before as after. It wasn't like there was some huge run in the community to enlist. I further notice come to think of it we gays generally held the mosst desired difficult jobs available. I've met more than my share of Rangers and seals that were gay. And yeah even I got through jump and sere school. Must have been my flamboyantly gay manner and lisp that figured out how to make the escape pass huh?
Gays have been in the military throughout history and in older times of more brutal personal conflict gays were actually desired as it was believed they fought even harder to protect the ones they loved. Read up on Napolean, the Ceasars, Ghengis Kahn, Hannibal, and Alexaner the Great. They all espoused the great contributions and value of gays in the military.
You need to take some time and thank every single vet, gay and straight alike that's posted here for allowing you the freedom to not only be a poorly informed, homophobic, moronic idiot, but the freedom to express yourself in a public forum with your only fear being showing the world how sad a person you really are.

The only real reason they didn't allow it years ago (and in some cases now because of old prejudices) was that it was a terrible embarassment for a person to admit they were gay. They could lose their job, status in the community and most of all their family.
This, during the cold war, left them very vulnerable to being bribed by the enemy who would threaten to "out" them if they didn't pass on military secrets.
Those days are gone. Now it's just good old greed for $$ that makes people give away military secrets. There's no reason at all for someone to be banned from the military because they are gay.

Please open your HISTORY BOOKS to Ancient Greece section and read. Allow me to introduce the Thracian Army, the most FEARED army of that time, in that Greek Generals would SEEK OUT lovers to fill thier ranks knowing that if thier partner was slain , the other would fight HARDER to avenge the loss, thus ensuring VICTORY.
Understanding this concept, it would behoove you to go see 300! i think this would be a great way to see this cohesive unit in action ,but understand that 300 is not about a "gay military" but about history. A history that included elements of this particular answer in an "understood" manner

that's just stupid. i know many gay guys who are capable of fighting in any war. not all gays are flamboyant and irritating, and they do not think of sex all of the time, and they most likely wouldn't hit on straight people. just because somone is gay doesn't mean they automatically fancy every guy in the world. everyone is entitled to their viewpoint, but i seriosly suggest you think about yours in a less hate filled way. how would you feel if you were ggay, and not allowed to join the army, if all of your friends deserted you, if you were denied the right to love just because you happened to love another man. its a horrible possition to be put in, there is too much hate in the world, dont add to it.

There are no reason why we should not be allowed to serve in the military. We are just as capable as our heterosexual counterparts. The question is why would someone want to serve for a country that doesn't protect all its people from the injustices that we face.

Those aren't reasons, those are nothing but stereotypes. Only a fool would believe them to be true.
There is no reason homosexuals should not be allowed in the Military.

Here's a reason they should be, and entrusted with the highest positions possible: if they're captured and the enemy tries a Mata Hari to get the secrets out of them, they'll be impervious.

:)

The only reason I can fathom that gays shouldn't be allowed in the military is because... they're too valuable to our (U.S.) society. We wouldn't want to lose any more gay men and women than necessary, would we?

Kidding, kidding... there is no reason.
