Is this a laptop?
Laptops dedicate a portion of your memory for graphics purposes....
Even if you have a desktop, some boards have an option to allow a portion of the physical memory to be shared with onboard graphics, or even a graphics card....My emachines has this option......
Enter the BIOS and find the graphics properties then see if anything is set to share memory.....

i will see you're making use of a 32-bit version of abode windows. 32-bit working structures (not in basic terms abode windows) can handle as much as 4GB of RAM, however the 1st megabyte and incredibly much 0.5 of the fourth gigabyte is taken via the gadget's BIOS and different hardware administration structures. that's generic and that is not seen as a concern (as long as you carry out properly with 3.5GB of RAM). To take finished benefit of the fourth gigabyte to boot, you will possibly desire to establish a sixty 4-bit version of abode windows and, if your motherboard helps a function observed as reminiscence remapping, all the RAM would be available to you. This should not be a concern, on account that all modern-day boards help this option.

these is normal no problem with these . but i can tell you , do you know share memory ? why your ram only show 3.12GB . these is because some of your hardware need share some memory from RAM because them self do not have random memory in side another 0.88 is share memory.so dun feel that you are still cheating or got some think problem to your computer.

When you cram in that much ram, most motherboards take the last 1/2 gig or so and dedicate it to the pci slots. Your motherboard manual should explain what it does with the ram and how much it allocates.

That means that either your computer cannot handle that much memory or you need to make sure your RAM is inserted snug in place by opening up the computer.
