There was an article in our local paper about how more and more people are using industrial silicone (like bathroom caulk) or parafin wax and injecting it into their cheeks, bust, lips, etc as a cheap alternative to cosmetic surgery. The article also said this is big on the transgender community. I have never heard of this and would think it's extremely dangerous. Is the reporter just trying to make for an interesting story, or does this really happen?

Before I have a mob come after me, I am in no way trying to disrespect the transgender community. On the contrary, I have some good friends who crossdress and I totally support them in that. I was just shocked to read this article, and wanted to ask if others had heard about this horrid practice. I know that the written word can be read with different inflections, but please note, I'm NOT a basher. So the chick who called me a c**t needs to back the heck off me!
