Strainer because if I do it the other way I get a steam burn and then end up spilling the noodles in the sink. YES im clumsy

I have this dutch oven pan that has a great lid.
Inside the lid there are drain holes and on the pain is shallow pour spouts. I no longer need a strainer with these pots and pans.

I use a strainer so I can rinse them under the tap to remove additional starch on them.
If you just drain them the starch level remains high.
By the way, this also works for things like Ground Beef. When it's cooked put it in a strainer and rinse with hot water to get excess fat off and pat dry. Helps reduce the amount of fat in your diet.
So the good old strainer can help us reduce both starch and fats which we should limit daily.

I know I should use the strainer, when I cover the pot with the lid and dump it upside-down the steam fogs my glasses and it's hottttttttt...

I use a strainer because I like my noodles to be rinsed before i eat them. I have this strange belief that it removes some of the starch when they are rinsed.

LOL. I don't use a strainer, I do the latter instead. It's practical and no need to add another utensil to wash.
