There hasn't been any beheading in Sarawak since WW2 or so, and the tradition has died although some Iban longhouses still keep skulls.
But there has been a lot of beheadings in Iraq over the last 4 years and they might deserve the title.

No..i dont think you should take away a title giving to you just because you dont practice something anymore...if siti nurhaliza stops singing today, will her 'Datuk' title be taken off just because she stop singing? No rite....same thing applies here.....since you are an Iban you should know your tribe better..

I don't think Sarawak is refered as much with the title 'land of headhunters' as it is with 'land of the hornbills'. In fact, if you hadn't brought it up, I would have totally forgotten about it. So I do not know wether Sarawak has 'retained' the title at all, to me, it was a past history. Long gone, but uniquely Sarawak nonetheless.
In Iraq, the beheading are done in an entirely different context. But either way, beheading people is a cruel thing. No one country should embrace it, even as a title.

Please don't be silly. The Land of Headhunters is a name given because of it's culture, the tribes used to do that. We treasure our culture, it's heritage. The beheadings in Iraq just to terrorize the world. That's not heritage, it's called terrorism.

Why go so far when Southern Thailand has started to practise the same. The latest is they have connections to the Al-Qaeda. Good lord, they are nearer to our home.
