Windows Vista is the latest release of Microsoft Windows, a line of graphical operating systems used on personal computers, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, Tablet PCs, and media centers. Prior to its announcement on July 22, 2005, Windows Vista was known by its codename "Longhorn".[1] Development was completed on November 8, 2006; over the following three months it was released in stages to computer hardware and software manufacturers, business customers, and retail channels. On January 30, 2007, it was released worldwide to the general public,[2] and was made available for purchase and downloading from Microsoft's web site.[3] The release of Windows Vista comes more than five years after the introduction of its predecessor, Windows XP, making it the longest time span between two releases of Windows versions.

Windows Vista, which I currently have on my computer now, is the next version of Microsoft Windows. I am getting lovely messages that say my version isn't legit, it dosen't log in voice chat and now will not allow me to download a game update. If your thinking about getting it I highly reccomend you wait it's still got more holes than swiss cheese.

Microsoft's new Operating System, whose launch has failed because of the lack of security and new features from XP to Vista.

Let's face it- its not exactly economical to pay for a new OS just because they have changed what it looks like... if anything ppl say it is worse than XP. This is because of the number of verifications you have to go through like when opening a program: "Are you sure you want to open..."

Additionally, much of Microsoft's own products are not compatible with Vista, for example... it is not backwards compatible with Office I think.

If you want to buy it, wait a while for them to produce more updates for the holes in the security.

Well! It's a new version of Windows which look like APPLE OS? Claim to have better firewall and NETWORK protections. I heard that there are still BUGS and do not support some older software. Even cause damage to iPOD? If you don't use it Bill wouldn't get rich?
