I think it really depends on the guy and how comfortable the guy is with himself. One of my close is straight and he doesn't seem to mind it is not a problem for him. He didn't know i was gay until a couple of years after we known each other when I finally came out. I think it also depends on how much exposure the straight guy has to gay people. If he doesn't know any gay people then he might have misconception about gay people in general and therefor have a problem with having a friend.

Being gay I know that I have quite a few straight friends, all of who know about me and my partner. I can say they are comfortable with me because of the conversations we have, we discuss sex all the time, nudity at the gym or beach is no big deal, we watch extreme porn of either kind (the freak show stuff, it's great and funny), etc. I feel totally comfortable with them and they have never shown me any times they are uncomfortable with me in any way.

Straight guys who are mature and secure with themselves don't usually have problems with gay men. I have several gay male friends. One of them is a big football fan (zzzzzz). He watches the games with my husband and his friends and they get along fine with him. My husband and all my male relatives and their straight friends don't really have a problem with my gay friends.
