Hey, does anyone know why hot water freezes faster than cold water?

The second two people answered pretty much correctly. When water is hot, the hydrogen and oxygen molecules r further apart than when it is cold.
Therefore, it takes a lot less time to freeze than cold, voila!

No, it doesn't. It's not logical for something that has to cool down first to freeze faster than something cold.

my guess repete guess would be that the water molecules when hot are farther apart which could allow for them to be more readily exposed to the cold

the sudden drop in temperature will cause evaporation and therefor looses mass and so theres less to cool and hey presto
