When I was studying in West Malaysia I encouterd some problems with eating pork. My housemate's friends were Malays, everyday they came to our place and I had some pork sausges and then my friend found the sausage and he asked me what sausage is this and I said pork. Next day I found my sausage in the trash can.

Next time I bought some pork sausages I told them it is chicken mixed with beef and next day those guys ate all of my sausages and said it is very sedap, they ask me to bring them some more. "Sure..." and I brought them more and until now they don't know it was sosej babi. It was their fault, right? They felt too much at home in my house...otherwise I always tell Muslims if it's non halal meat.

You think I should tell them or not?

And what are your favorite Malaysian pork dishes?

Why do they have to sniff in my fridge anyway?

For Gawai Dayak some Malays from peninsula visited my granddad's longhouse - he is tuai rumah - and they wanted tuak (liquor) but I didn't want to give them so they stole my grandpa's jar of tuak and they finished it. Then they were drunk and one of them fell down to the place Ibans keep their pigs and then he was shouting at my grandpa and called him 'bodoh', 'anak babi' and he threatened to call police. Then my grandpa sent them back by boat and it was the last time Malays came to his longhouse...

They were also trying to imitate Hamlet with the skulls hanging from the ceiling which is insulting to Ibans as our old people still have pre-Christian believes and that skull is sacred, they are very old skulls, my grandpa's father got them when he fought for white rajah against rebelious Ibans and rajah allowed them to keep all enemy skulls.

Boy you are in trouble....firstly like most of them said, you knew what you were eating and you knew what mistake you did...you should learn to respect their belives as well. If you didnt like what they did by throwing away your pork in the bin, you should tell them...but now its too late, the least you can do now is to tell them that actually they ate your pork the other day..tell them the truth...well at least they admitted its 'sedap'..but usually what i know if a true muslim suspects that you have pork in the house they would be carefull to eat anything offered by a non-muslim, so your friends should know better too, since they did come across you eating pork and by right the 2nd time they should be more aware and not just gobble up your so called chicken beef sausages, unless they really wanted to take a bite....both parties are at fault.

Now adding comment:

You should tell them. But it wasn't right what they did to your food and at your grandfather's longhouse. What you can do about those drunken Malays is call police or JAKIM, they handle those cases.

I don't eat pork so I don't have any favourite pork dish.

I've heared of Malays eating pork by mistake or on purpose but in your case you tricked them. If I were you there wouldn't be another time in my place after they throw away my food. I always warn my Hindu friends if there's any beef in food but if I invite Hindus only I wouldn't even display beef and if I host vegeterians I'll make sure there's no meat on the table. But yeah, it was in your refrigerator and it's none of their business.

It is inappropriate to eat pork dishes yourself knowing there are muslims in the house let alone serve and lie to them. You should be sensitive enough to respect the beliefs and values of others.

No comments cos i don't eat pork. The reason is i can't stand the filthy sight of the animal. I grew up near a pig farm when i was small and the animals were disgusting. They used to eat their own shits. That's what pigs are.

honestly,i believe in honesty is the best policy and everything. but me being malaysian, and doing what you did i think you should hold back on the truth. Only scandal and trouble can come from the truth so hold your tongue and don't do it again. only trouble can follow after your "revelation".
