i've researched quite a bit on y.a and the internet for our trip to orlando in june and i've learned a lot though i've still got a way to go! we have the park hopper, universal and discovery cove tickets, now i was thinking that if we go to the major parks, like mk, in the morning, then back to the villa for lunch and a break and follow on to another park later. would this work better doing this for a few days rather than tire ourselves out doing a full day (s) at the parks? we are there for 2 weeks and our girls are 8 and 11. we have to get to the water parks early in the day though, right?

Great research planning on your part. If I may add a suggestion, you may want to consider doing one park a day. The reason that I suggest this is that unfortunately, you are going to be spending the majority of your time standing in the lines to ride the rides. I would also like to suggest that you pick up one to attractions maps and sit down with your family and map out the attractions that you would like to see and ride. This will save you a lot of time from wander in the parks. You will know where you are going and what you want to see. Usually, you will make more from your vacations days if you try to take the parks, day by day. This way you will have knocked out all of the parks in 3 to 5 days depending on how many parks you are going to. You can spend the remainder of your vacations going to either the dinner shows, or smaller attractions like Old Towne.

Hi...sounds like my last trip...was supposed to be my dream Disney trip, and was there almost 2 weeks. Ran in to some problems, but still had a blast and as always no matter how long you are there you can never see it all.

I personally would suggest tweaking your timing. Remember that even if you are on property, by the time you walk to the buses, get on the one to your property, get there, find your room, get settled, etc you have likely used close to an hour. So what sounds like a fast hop back really is a 2 hour turnaround, before any relaxing or eating.

So I would suggest planning out your days a little differently. Maybe stay at a park until 3ish, then go back and rest, relax, and go back out either for dinner in the park or something totally different. Or plot out different days where some will give you larger chunks of hotel down time, especially in the middle of the trip.

My guess, after having tried it, is you will actually end up feeling more tired from running back and forth to the parks. The one good thing is it sounds like you are going when the parks are open late. I went in Oct and even though it was perfect weather and crowds, other than the Halloween nite, they closed early so by the time we got back when we tried that, they were almost closing.

So main thought is it's easier to grab a light lunch in the park and take a dinner break. Probably would be cheaper that way too. Also somewhere right past the middle I'd strongly suggest a down day, where you just avoid ALL parks/attractions/moving as much as possible, and just hang at the pool. Perhaps do something that night if you want, but it's amazing how good a day like that can be for recharging your batteries!

Hope you have a blast!!! Say hi to Figment for me please :)

If you are visiting during the peak season (spring break or summertime) then yes, you will definitely want to get to the water parks when they open because they often fill to capacity in the hot months. And if it rains while you are there, hang out and see if the storm passes. Cast Members track the storm and have to wait until the storm is 5 miles away before they can allow guests back in the water. Often, people get discouraged and leave. By the time the storm passes (can take up to 45 minutes), half the water park has emptied out and you can enjoy the rest of your day with limited crowds. So be patient to enjoy a day at a Disney water park.
As for the park hopper question - if your kids are young, taking breaks and naps at your villa is highly recommended. And you have two full weeks so you will have plenty of time to see and do most everything.

Here is what I say you do, and by the way have so much fun on your vacation...me and my fiancee are leaving for Orlando at the end of April and I am so excited!!! By the way you are so lucky that you are going to discovery cove...we wanted to go but it was a little too pricey for us, anyways...

You need to go to a park a day, if you are staying for two weeks then that gives you and your family plenty of time to do everything that you want to do. Go to Discovery Cove for one day, they open at 9 and close at 530, plus you get a free lunch there so that handles lunch and your park for a day, that night hit old town or something like that in Orlando.

Then each day do a park (Universal, Disney, Sea World, wherever you're going) get there in the morning when they first open because that is there slowest time. Go counter clockwise. I know that it sounds funny, but people tend to go to their right, when they go into the park, well you and your family go to the left and then the lines won't be so long, leave the parks around 2 and then go back to the hotel and get some food, hang around at the hotel pool and then later that night go back to the parks if you want, just remember to get your hand stamped when you go out, the parks always slow down at night.

About the water parks, do not get their early in the morning, because of 2 reasons:

1) everybody else gets their at that time and it will be packed
2) it is too cold in the mornings, and you don't want to freeze

Go in the afternoon, settle down in your hotel and hang around their, or go hit the Ripleys believe it or Not, then around 1 hit the water parks, then it will be warm enough to get in the water, and not so packed!

Have so much fun on your vacation and I hope that you and your family will be safe!

It sounds like a good idea, but you would be suprised at how much time it takes to do stuff in disney world. Half a day is not enough in the magic kingdom. The best bet is to go to one park, take it easy and don't rush, then you won't tire out. Magic Kindom and Epcot should get full days, but I feel like Animal Kingdom and MGM have less to do, so a half a day for those two would be sufficient.

On disney world's web site, you can make customized maps that highlight the rides and other places that you want to go to the most, so finding things is alot faster. They're free.

...not sure about the water parks.

I recommend you take a full day for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, those two parks cannot be done in half a day, you will have very little time to see what the parks have to offer. You can take a break for lunch and leave the park if you choose but I highly recommend you return to the same park immediatly after lunch, both of these parks also have nightly firework shows that are must-sees. Have Fun!

I think the idea you have of going to major parks in the morning than back to the villa for a break is a great idea. There are going to be days when you just want to go back for lunch and hang out by the pool instead of even going back to one of the parks. The FL sun can be brutal and also very draining and sometimes the lines at the parks can be exhausting in June so doing it in moderation is very smart.

Hi,

We've been in Orlando during 10 days with our children (3 and 7). We've spent a full day in each park (Disney and Universal parks) and it wasn't that tiring... We've just inserted visits to more 'relaxing' parks like Seaworld and Blizzard Beach in our planning and it was ok, even for the kids.

However, it was late February so the weather wasn't too hot (between 25 and 28°C) and the parks hours were mostly 9am-7pm (only...) so the day wasn't too tiring. I guess it might be different in June...

If you stay 2 weeks, you can maybe spend full days in parks and allow yourself one or two days to relax if you feel the need.

Have a nice trip !

Since you're going to be there for 2 weeks you might consider hopping resorts to enjoy the most the parks have to offer. You could enjoy one week at a resort in the Epcot area and have all the conveniences of being able to walk to the park, and then move to one in the Magic Kingdom and take advantage of the monorail or ferries. You could probably even squeeze in a night or two at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The resorts all have fantastic pools.

those rumors approximately Disney construction a topic park in TX has been humming around for years. So final 12 months while given the prospect i in my opinion posed this question to a Disney government. Her answer became that even with all the rumors there are easily no plans to construct a topic park in TX. we live in uncertain low-fee circumstances. lots so as that the subject parks are having to grant techniques of luring us into their now latest area. With that stated it is my opinion that Disney would approach any construction plans intently. In protection of Indiana Jones, even with the undeniable fact that, I additionally examine plans approximately Disney's interest in construction a evening themed park. Who is conscious if those plans will ever come to fruition.
