Reading is like giving your mind the oportunity to be creative in it's own way. When I read I like to have music playing w/o any lyrics, just instrumental. Then have a candle or two lit. Get the incense out (sandalwood). While reading I get mental pictures of the words. I create my own design as to how the story sets, but I haven't read a book for a long time, thanks for the reminder.

I read all the time, and I am trying to write a book too!
I love it, but I can understand that it's not the right activity for everyone. Myself - I'm terrible at computer/video grames and find them really stupid. But I can see how other people get into them.
I think it sounds really judgemental for people to be telling you that reading is weird. Maybe you need to introduce them to a book that they'll LOVE.

you could surely examine the e book first. that's what i might propose. then you definately can watch the movie later on and notice the way it compares. that is an fairly solid e book once you get interior the direction of the 1st couple chapters and adapt the Jane Austen's writing type. for the 2nd question.. night is properly the 1st in a trilogy that Elie Wiesel wrote. I forget approximately the right names yet right here books might desire to do with how he coped along with his studies while they have been over. i think of the titles have been some thing easy daybreak or daybreak or some thing.

When I'm not on the computer I read. Most people I know don't seem 'disturbed' by it. Although some bug me about what I read. Sometimes I have to resort to trashy harlequin type romance books just cause its the only thing I have (my cousin loves them and gives them to me when shes done). I'll read them but usually laugh my way through them wondering where the story is. But I have to read. My hubby hates it sometimes cause I have the light on half the night reading.

I love to read, I read over 250 books last year! Most people don't bug me about it, but my country (the Netherlands) has a pretty high percentage of readers too.

Yes I love to get lost in a good book just for fun. And yes,I've crossed paths with those non-readers who think it's a waste of time. They don't know what they're missing!

My wife and I both read for fun.
Years ago I had a coworker ask me what my wife and I did for fun. Prior to moving across the country we had sold most of our large furniture (including the television) so I replied, "We go for walks, go to the movies, go to the library"...
At which point she exclaimed, "The LIBRARY?!! I HATE the library!!!"
I decided at that very moment that she was among the dumbest people on the planet, if not THE dumbest!

I think a persons surroundings has a lot to do with how people adapt their everyday language skills.
I read a lot of outdoor material but hardly ever do I read a book other than the Bible.
