Lawrence Summers, President of Harvard, suggests that women are not naturally skilled in sciences. He had to resign.

Catherine Comins, Vassar College Assistant Dean of Student Life - in Time Magazine said, "Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience." Source: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,973077-6,00.html (Time Magazine, June 3, 1991, page 52).

Is this proof we live in The Feminist Republic of America?

Lawrence Summers should not have been fired, but do you really want the President of a prestigious educational institution tell your daughter that she does not have the skills for science? Why do you need to tell girls that they lack the genes or skills to choose a career that makes her happy and helps mankind.... Education should support both males and females - Mr. Summers should have been required to teach an elementary science class instead, a dog is never too old to learn new tricks, the elementary school girls probably could have taught him a few things.

As for Catherine Comins, she does not represent Vassar College with her ignorant comments of the use of the word rape, men should not be subjected to a word that causes instant harm to a persons career and public standing. Women who cry rape falsely should be tried publicly in the court systems for all the charges that may apply, the obvious would be giving a false statement, maybe fraud of some kind, slander? and some form of harm to another human being. Woman who cry rape falsely ALSO seriously injure the woman who was raped and now has to go through a court system and have the way she was dressed, acting, or her sexual past used against her - which causes a lot of the REAL cases of rape not to go into the system because the trial for the rapist is harder on the woman than the actual rape, so a rapist goes free and a woman who deserves justice gets nothing....

By the way to the college guy in the story, any time a woman says no it means no it does not matter if you already have your clothes off and ready.... This does not mean AFTERWARDS... It does not matter if she lead you to believe you were going to get sex and you were already rearing to go. This does not give women the right to have the next day regrets and claim rape either. A little common sense could be used on both sides here, and men who use alcohol to get sex your in the danger zone, try getting sex from a woman who is sober and can make decisions much better....

Feminism has pretty much flopped and been exposed for the lie that it is, but one critical area where it has succeeded is in the world of academics. Most colleges and universities now have Women's Studies or Gender Studies departments that are staffed by feminists, many of them openly lesbians.

That's why there's such a big gulf between what you see coming out of academic circles in this country, and what the average man in the street believes in.

The best thing that could happen to America today is to call a moratorium on all college and university education for a set period, like say the next ten years - and during that period just close them all down. Everyone has to either find another job, or if you are a student, maybe join the military, or volunteer for some real public service, instead of paying money to listen to old, discredited 1960s left wing crap.

No! While you are trying to keep women in their place, you should be looking at all the draft age Illegal aliens entering the country to make the place worse than what it already is for Americans! Hypocrites that call themselves Chrstian to boot. As they erode all of our rights as a Nation of people...This is not a time in history to keep holding people back because of their gender..The hand that rocks the cradle, does rule the world!

No, I don't think so. I think the majority of women think they're a bunch of nuts and that they don't represent mainstream women in America.

They're a handful of radical element who just happens to get alot of news coverage. It's sad to see.

I think American men ought to show women the utmost respect and courtesy. I think women who do their jobs should receive the same pay and benefits as men do. No woman should be denied anything due to her gender. But I also feel that women should be treated like ladies, with honor and respect that is due a lady. Why should not a man hold a door or give up a chair for a lady? It's the right thing to do.

Radical feminism is annoying, but it's no threat.

No because US different than Europe and some countries in South America hasn't be modern enough to have a women as leader. US it is still lock on the old idea about women's position in society. Hillary Clinton has more impact because is a women than a strong leader, while she has proved to be more than capable of running US. She has done before when her husband was president, the only different is that she didn't have the title he had.

The two comments are not really comparable, and both are ridiculous anyway by the way.....!

Feminists do not dominate America by any means so the name change isn't ready just yet!!! Don't panic, feminists are very much a tiny minority group!

If anything, it should still be the "White Male Republic of America", seeing as that's pretty much who has ruled the country and made its decisions forever.....

I actually think that feminism is starting to fizzle so I'm not too worried that the feminazis are going to take over the world any time soon. And hamsters will fly before Hillary Clinton becomes president. If she does happen to win the election (which I seriously doubt) I'm moving to Canada or Europe.

Well, that would be a start...

I understand what you're implying but it sounds like its taken out of context. If she really meant it that way - then I assure you... she won't make it far in life.

I can only hope that Women gain more influence in the USA...
