oh ! fuzzie, perhaps that is why God is God, the inscrutable, who can be limited and unlimited, can be unable to lift and able to lift, can be tiny and big. can be restricted (see all those religions for eg.) and also Unrestricted (perhaps examples like you), can be lawful and loveful ... lol ...Hope the point is clarified.

I like "smalls " answer, still I remember a story when a Jewish couple with kids stayed in a city, they knew the nazis would come to bring jews into concentration camps. Still they stayed there in total trust and belief in GOD`S protection and they were deported to the concentration camps, where the wife was killed, plus the kids and only the man survived and in this loosing all his belief in GOD`s help.
What did he do wrong? He 100 percent believed.
To invoke the Everlasting protection of the 100 percent omnipotent God we might be called upon to search and fulfill his Will. What is GOD`S Will? If he is omnipotent we also can assume he is just. So if we do the right or good thing we will be protected. So our task might be to learn to understand his Will better and if suffering comes our way, we might receive a lesson, that what we thought was right in our view, might had been wrong in GOD`S view.
The inner voice is a great help to understand GOD`S Will and to be open for his protection as the gut feeling or inner voice is like a guide and helper for us, accompanying us on our path for protection. I remember when I was walking in a lonely forest path, when a man wanted to attack me and my inner voice actually guided me to safe myself from serious injury or more. I felt GOD`S protection in this hour more then other times. Also if we pray we can connect to help, which surrounds us always.
But to learn and understand GOD`S laws and his Will is what we have to give from us, to deserve his protection.

By acknowledging the presence of The God. It seems as the only reason why a god would create beings whose fate lies open to so many possibilities. Some beings would be slaves to luck, others to well planned lifetimes, because they see those as direct influences of their fate, ignoring the creator of fate. If one was to be worthy of everlasting protection of the Creator, then one should acknowledge The Creator's Presence and Influence.
Ways of acknowldgement differ, but they have one thing in common. That they are learnt from the predecessors. They have been mutilated and warped in many aspects, but the seed of purity lies somewhere for a being of such mentality as humans to be able to find it. Being guided only happens when such guidance is seeked.
Everlasting is a word that describes total existence. That beings are from, for and to the Creator. The Creator that has nothing before, equal to, nor beyond. Whether in existing, ability, or in description.
Equation
The Creator=1
The being acknowledges this number (the meaning of it )
The effect becoming exact for what the number represents.
The Path
The start = The start of awareness
The path= Life
The destination= depends on what the being is aware of and acknowledges.
The guide
a being
a beautiful being
a simple being
an example
The light
knowledge that is familiar to beings
the light is instinctual
The answer
The method of acknowledgement that acknowledges The One. The method that had a beautful simple being. The method that has knowledge as light.

Protection from what?? Life involves suffering, but without it we would not know joy and pleasure. King Solomon had a ring to make all happy men sad and sad men happy - on it was inscribed "this too shall pass."
In reading the Tao Te Ching i have come to believe that only form is changeable - the Tao remains constant and we return to it. But there are no easy answers. I guess we've just got to keep searching!! i believe if you seek with a pure heart you will find contentment in the midst of suffering - I healed deep pain in searching with my heart and I now appreciate each day i am alive and want to leave the world a better and more beautiful place if i can help my western way of living.

God cannot be 100% omnipotent and omniscient. Observe:
There is a contest. "Build a Rock So Large That God Cannot Lift It." If God wins the contest, then there is a rock he cannot lift, and his power is limited. There is also a limit to God's knowledge. He couldn't know what it feels like to lift such a rock.
The simple solution to the presented problem is to say God could win the contest, but chooses not to. But if God does not win the contest, then God cannot know what it is like to win that exact contest. His knowledge is limited. Furthermore, his power would be limited. He would have to make decisions that did not involve him winning the contest. He cannot sign a contract reading, "I, the undersigned, will win the "Build a Rock So Large That God Cannot Lift It" contest.
Omnipotence and Omniscience are impossible.

Christians have self assurance that for the period of the commandments it says they shall no worship any in graven image and we don't possibly understand what god looks like so technically we've not got photos of god or statues for that to take place we in effortless terms have depictions however the point to harm or be indignant at god is a sin that ought to anger god

Do NASA scientists pray that the rocket will blast off without a hitch? Will that planet killing asteroid bearing down us be swept aside by the hand of god or nudged by that satellite? Before scientific advancement in medicine, several hundred years ago our life expectancy was half of what it is today, do we invoke that same protection now or rely on medical science to live longer?
Hmmm, common sense tells me that other forces are at work protecting us, and its not the almighty god.

Prayers, chantings, dedication and meditation. Really, one has to do the pilgrimage to Nepal and India. I want to do a tour one day. I also would like to go to the Holy Land, though I am not a Christian or Jew. It is just interesting. Japanese people go there a lot out of curiosity. When it settles down, not right now.
