Am I alone in thinking that so called comedians like Russell Brand aren't funny in the slightest?
I'm in my mid forties now and I could count on the fingers of maybe two hands men and women comics today that are really funny - the rest seem to be a bunch of lefty do-gooders wanting to preach to us!
I'd never realised that comedian/comediens hated each other so much and it's probably justifield that comics right of the political pendulum don't like those who are on the left and can you blame them? The likes of Russell Brand, Ben Elton (mind you Ben Elton did write Blackadder - which is funny) doing standup etc., they're just not funny are they?
Did anyone see the programme?
However, I did found myself disagreeing with Jim Davidson and Bernard Manning about comediens like Jo Brand, as I find her very funny - as a man - and admire her gutts to tell jokes at the expense of men - FOR WOMEN - you then get to see good quality humour from both a male and female perspective!

Was anyone surprised to see Tommy Cooper quite far down the list?
Apparently, (although not mentioned in this programme) he is regarded by many comics as a comical genius - indeed probably the benchmark for standup!
There are a few rays of light like e.g. Lee Evans - infact the film Mousehunt was definitely one of the funniest films I think I've ever seen - pure farce infact.
He can run a bit flat over a long period on stage - but I expect he'll improve with age and experience.
The problem I believe with comics, especially comics geniuses like Jasper Carrot and Jack Dee and on the kindergarten continent the other side of the pond like Jackie Mason and Joan Rivers (indeed she was consoling her daughter with jokes about 9/11 when they'd lost someone because of it, as soon as it had happened) is the incredible broadcast coverage of TV, they can end up running dry of material - because once it's been on the box, then everyone whose interested has seen it!

Why did the Sanders girls, Colonel Sanders daughters, absolutely *refuse* to eat KFC's extra crispy fried chicken?
Because it reminded them too much of their late father's foreskin... But thaaat's my life.

russell brand is all right, his bbc podcast is really good. my favourite comedians are the Irish ones like Ed Byrne and Dara O Briain..I dont really like any of the female comedians
