My friend at work claims she went to the Apple Store and because they don't make the iPod Mini any more they upgraded her to the top of the range model for free. Is this true or another one of her lies?

No what she probably means is that her ipod mini was probably within it's 1 year guarantee but in the interim they've stopped making her ipod mini's (I'm assuming it was the mono screen one she had the original ipod mini) so they had to give her the equivelent product instore which was the new top of the range model.

Most iPods don't even last 12 months before they pack up...
