Is it not just about two pieces of music we're talking about here? Feel like some people are so passionate about it, they would even be a little extreem....
Time to calm down for some, listen God Save the Queen before going to bed. You'll have the Marseillaise to wake you up....
I thought someone said music is universal, and peacefull

I personally like the French, Italian and American national anthems in that order the most. If you look at the lyrics they go to the heart of each nation's founding as modern republics. The words are inspiring when you think of the struggles each country went through to achieve liberty. Perhaps its no wonder the French and Italians are better than us in the football because their players have something to relate to and are more fired up after hearing their anthem! Seriously, take a look at the translations and you'll see how bloody and violent they are in spite of the jaunty and upbeat tune of the Italian anthem!

Yes the french anthem is definitely more beautiful than god save the queen.

Yes. Most are, it's not a great anthem. I personally like the Canadian anthem, O Canada, best, sung in either english or french

To be honest, most national anthems are better than the monotonous God Save the Queen.
At the commonwealth games each country of the UK has its own anthem (of which England's is Land of Hope and Glory). Each of these is better than the UK anthem.

Well almost all ( if not all) national anthems sing about their countries and history and not just about their reigning monarch or president, so yes in this respect I think French together with other anthems are better and more appropriate.
