Thanks for the serious answers so far.

Armybrat...I understand what your point is. But c'mon dude...you can't tell me that there's not a higher percentage of gay males that talk with a lisp than straight men who talk like that.

I get the feeling that you're asking an honest question and you're not being a smarta**. So, I'm going to give you an honest opinion. I know some gay men who don't talk with a lisp and I know some perfectly straight men who do talk with a lisp. People could have a slight speech impedament that requires them to talk that way. I really don't know why most gay men talk with a lisp.

Now, onto the "Loud" issue: Many gay adult men, and espeically the female lispy form, use biting irony and sarcasm as a protection-and-leisure device. oftentimes those loud "queeny" adult men think of their comments are SO humorous, witty, that they communicate very loud so each body can listen them and be surprised. oftentimes, in spite of the undeniable fact that, human beings listen them and are disgusted. In 50 years, the adult men on your question will now no longer exist - as all races and sexual identities develop into more beneficial like one style.

I think it's a way for them to tell you they are gay without coming out and telling you. It's an accessory like earrings or cufflinks.

idk, i've wondered that many times myself. I've also wondered how come so many "straight" guys talk the same way, and use so many of the same manerisms- 1 hand on hip, hip jutted out, etc...
