There is no specific time. You should though get intune with you child and see when he or she likes the bath the best. If it is relaxing and calms the baby then you might want to keep it in the evenings before bed; however, if the baby (like mine) is energized and likes to splash around and play it could be any time of day. I think whatever you do you should try to maintain a schedual--this helps the baby become accustomed to everyday rituals/habits (in a good way). It helps provide some stability. However, if the child is ever in need of a bath promptly, rest-assured it is OK to give it to them then and there. Relax and have fun!

No, I don't think there is a specific time but its better bath them at the same time every day to establish a routine. Bath, Pjs, brush teeth, story, bed..... However, nothing is perfect and sometimes you might get a "blow out" and a bath is easier than using a whole box of baby wipes LOL! I prefer to bath my baby at night just before bed, it calms her and I just like the thought of her going to bed clean because she sits in a diaper all day long. But to other babies, bath before bed can "wake" them up.... Try both and see what works better for the baby.

Until my son was about a year old he would scream bloody murder when he had his bath, so I gave him his in the AM because I didn't want him to get all wound up before bed at night. Now that he is 2 1/2 he hates to get out of the bath because he has so many toys in there to play with and he loves to splash everyone.

Nighttime is best for us. By the end of the day my daughter pretty much NEEDS a bath after being into everything all day and feeding herself (a skill she still has not mastered).
Also, the bath kicks off our bedtime routine every night.

I first started doing it during the day. He is 6 mos now and I found out that if I bathe him right before putting him to sleep he sleeps better and longer.
So just try different things and do whatever is best for you and the baby.

You'll find that there will be certain times, you just HAVE to do it regardless of time of day, extremely messy diapers will cause that :)

seriously though, its best to give the baby a nice relaxing bath before bedtime, its worked for my wife and I

I have always found with my 2 children that if I bathed them at night, they slept very well for me. I would say night, just before you put him/her to bed.

You can do it at any time. Most people choose to do it at night before bed to calm down a baby.
