I was looking thru the linksys pages and under the Administrations Diagnostics tab there is a Ping test button. I tried www.yahoo.com along with www.google.com and got a 'request timed out' for both. When I tried the network addresses 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101 I got good Ping tests from them.
Is the Ping test only good for testing within a network?
Can anybody with a Linksys ping out to a www.com address?

You can ping any address on the internet, having said that many servers will not respond to a ping request.
If you ping www.terra.es you should get a response.
