You want to go to "My Computer (start > my computer)
Right click on Drive C:/ then go down to "properties".
Click on Disk Clean up
it will have a little box that comes up, make sure there all checked. then click ok. (you will not do any harm what so ever, i do it all the time.)
Then after thats done check the check mark that says, "compress Drive to save disk space" then click on apply, this will take up to 15-30 min to complete. If it has any pop ups just click on "ignore all"
basically its all common sence after the first part.

What do you mean by clean? If you mean format you need a boot CD and format from prompt.
