Heck even if his name was Osama Bin Laden, I'd still like him! He has the heart of a true baller.

I'm going to destroy my best answer percentage with this one because I know it's going to be unpopular, but I personally would not be an Iverson fan if you paid me. I lived in Tidewater, VA during the period that he was arrested and incarcerated and the only reason he didn't go to prison was the intervention of the Doug Wilder, the VA state governor. The justice system there found him guilty and he was off to the 'big house' before that intervention. A close friend of mine was in the bowling alley when the 'incident' occurred and from what he told me (my friend is an engineer and not given to exaggeration or overstatement) 'ol Iverson was right in the thick of it just like the arrest record says. The man should have served his term in jail. He's a street thug. The ONLY reason he is not in jail is because of the warped luck of the genetic draw that gave him incredible skill in bouncing a round bit of inflated rubber/leather and the associated earnings capability of same. I repeat, the man belongs in jail.

I've always been a fan of AI because he can ball and he's the best looking guy in the nba, (along with J-HO) it never mattered what his name was. But if I wore jerseys and tennis shoes I would still rock it if that was his name because Its not about the name but how good I look wearing it! GO MAVS!!!

No. Thats why Hakeem Olajuwon's skills and accomplishments are not fully appreciated. Honestly, he is one of the best centres ever, but how can a name like that compete with a name like Shaq?

Ask yourself why you like him first and then why would you care if he changed his name - He is still the same guy, same player. I would never judge someone by his/her name.

I would never buy anything that has any form of his name on it. If he wasn't being overpaid in the NBA he'd be in prison for sellin drugs or worse.
