Your power supply is failing. Listen for the big fan coming on when you first start up. Its probably sticking and cutting the power out.
You can test this by taking the side of the pc off, usually the left side as you look at the front of the pc. Switch it on and see if the big fan where the power lead goes in is turning. If it is't your psu is going to fail sometime soon. Check to see the small fan on the motherboard is spinning too.

Most strange! I would supsect a virus and therefore suggest you do a full virus HDD scan with a good up to date virus scanner. If this doesn't fix the problem, try booting in "Safe Mode" (minmal drivers installed) and see if it still does the same thing. If it doesn't then I would be using Mike Lin's "Startup Control Panel" to isolate apps that are loading at startup. You can enter "Safe Mode" by tapping F8 just before and during Windows loading at bootup.

It looks as there is some problem with the Power Supply unit of your PC. Get it checked from some hardware mechanic to find out the exact cause.

This is normaly due to a crash,
you can turn it off by clicking on the Start button.
- right click on the My Computer item in the Start Menu.
- select the Properties item from the Context Menu that scrolls out.
- click on the Advanced tab.
- click the button for Settings under Startup and Recovery.
- click to remove the check mark next to Automatic Restart.

Could be that your computer CPU is over-heating. It is worth buying a new CPU cooler as this always does the trick.
Run the computer in BIOS mode (When it starts up press F8, or F2) and observe the CPU temperature. Normally it should be about 45 degrees. If it reaches about 80 degrees your CPU is over heating and you need a new fan. This is connected to your motherboard.
If you need anymore help, please e-mail me.

Check out the Voltage settings before following The Ninja's advice (he may be right). Your PC's BIOS may allow for this.

You need to get your PC alone and in a firm voice yell "NO!" if that wont work maybe you need a new power supply unit.
