Constructive criticism (often shortened to 'CC' or 'concrit') is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. In collaborative work, this kind of criticism is often a valuable tool in raising and maintaining performance standards.

Because of the overuse of negative, nagging criticism, some people become defensive even when receiving constructive criticism given in a spirit of good will. Constructive criticism is more likely to be accepted if the criticism is focused on the recipient's work or behavior. That is, personality issues must be avoided as much as is possible. Critical thinking can help identify relevant issues to focus on.

Criticism by itstelf can be harsh and painful. If you are critical about something, you go over everything with a fine-toothed comb. You find the places where the work is weakest, strongest and points in between.
When you are constructive about criticism, you actually make suggestions on how to fix what is wrong, how to make things flow, how to choose different words or images. You can still be brutally honest, but in a way that gives the writer something he can use when he revisits his piece.

Criticism can be devastating or constructive. Sounds strange!!! But thats true. It is very easy to criticise anyone and pass-on harsh remarks to make someone down but constructive criticism means when you criticise someone in a way that helps that someone in improving himself. Try not to be too hard on him or too harsh with words but still making the point straight and clear that there was some loophole in the work done or the action taken.

Constructive criticism is to help a person to perform better by giving positive advice in letting them know their faults and help them to over come them and perform better in what ever fields they are working, Where as some people have tendency to discourage every thing That is done and making them feel inferior and lose interest in their field.

Criticism that will help. Instead of just downing the person, you are helping them, in a kind way, by letting them know what they are doing wrong and what they are doing right.

It's criticism that points out the "problem", but also offers ideas to better the "problem."
