I'm thinking New York City for art, classical music and innovative ideas on culture and dance, not Hollywood. America is not all about Hollywood.

Personally, I fail to see the point of being anti-American. My European friends and relatives critique the political issues but harbor little anger towards the American people. We don't really think of them that way. That is inappropriate and misguided, from the first respondent. Nothing wrong with watching Rambo or the Terminator once in a while.

I know Smetana by heart and some Rossini and Vivaldi. I see nothing wrong with a Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani, or Beatles album once in a while. Escapism and humor are good.

I am not too sure I would consider movies like Rambo, American Pie and Jackass one or two. To be ground breaking cultural experiences, unless you want to portray that Americans are sexist, war mongers and unintelligent.

America is the center for pop culture and flash in pan fads. You will nor will anyone over take the history, music, art that has been brought to us by dead Europeans.

Guess by America you mean the USA, right?;) Well...no doubt about it being the center of 'international film-making', and 'medical research'...About culture and art though, the Old Continent still leads;)
