I dont want to make anything out of it. I just like the whole crab with butter. When I was at the SF Wharf, you could buy them fresh out of the ocean, and steamed right on the wharf, and eat them right there for about $10. I'm looking for the same thing/price in PDX.

As far as a whole crab in a restaurant, Malay Satay Hut advertises a whole crab for $15. I'm guessing it might be a soft-shelled crab but could be dungeness, don't know but you might want to do a bit of investigating on it. Most crab in restaurants is pretty pricey and I don't know of many that sell you the whole crab. Most sell dishes with crab in it. Jake's or McCormicks might be your best best but cheap it will not be.

You're probably going to have a hard time finding a whole fresh crab for cheap in a restaurant. If you want cheap dungenss crab - go to Costco. They have a one pound container of the BEST crab for $15. The same exact crab sells at Zupan's for $32.99. I can get 15 crab cakes out of it.
