I agree with you completely.
For solid proof, play the movie 'Holiday" (dino morea) and 'Dirty Dancing'; except for the actors , everything is same.

I disagree completely. Many films are not copied from Hollywood; Eklavya, Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, Jaan-e-mann, etc. Even those that are copied are not direct copies. They are adapted to suit Indian audiences and Indian culture. This is done within the context of the film in interesting and innovative ways. For example, Munnabhai MBBS. This is a copy of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It is a comic adaptation of a tragedy. I find this very innovative and intersting. See the original with Jack Nicholson and I think you'll agree with me.
Oh, BTW, Hollywood is usually ripping off the british and now they're copying bollywood back too. Munnabhai MBBS is supposed to be being remade as an Hollywood film (ironic, isnt it)

Yes, many of the Bollywood movies are copied partially or wholly from Hollywood Flicks . 1 recent case is the movie :
"Deewane Hue Pagal" : almost a copy of
"Something about Mary" . And there are more cases .
But there have been movies like "Iqbal" and "Guru" that buck this trend .and do have originality of content .

You're right. I remember that in the movie Mohabattein, they ripped off a scene from The Dead Poet's Society, where all the students stood up ad gave a salute to teacher Shah Rukh Khan? Almost like how Robin Williams was saluted by the students, and more deservedly?

I agree that there's none, but do you think that Directors and Producers would give fresh writers the opportunity to showcase their talent ? They would rather copy Hollywood and have an unrealistic invalid explaination as to how they came about their sluggish idea. I've been banging on doors to have some of my writings read, they just wont give new writers a chance.

Hollywood, yes.
And Bollywood doesnt even spare Tollywood (Telugu/Bengali film industry) when it comes to lifting stories, themes or even tunes!
Extravagant themes - Modest originals
* Hum aapke hain kaun - Abhinandana
* Hum dil de chuke sanam - Mauna Raagam
