He has no season mvps, no finals mvps, has never been out the 1st round without Shaq, has missed the playoffs since Shaq left L.A., has been having horrible season records since Shaq left L.A., was held scoreless in the 2nd half of a BIG GAME 7, blew a 3-1 lead in a series (but supposed to have a killer instinct), has only 1 scoring title (but supposed to be the best scorer), & his stats are debatable with others. Kobe has played 11 seasons & haven't achieved any finals or season mvps. I don't care what you guys say but that suck! MJ in 11 seasons had 4 finals mvps, 4 season mvps, 8 scoring titles, 4 nba titles, LED his team to a 72-10 record, & etc. If Kobe was a great player he should of accomplished more then what he already has. The only thing he got is 3 nba titles with no mvps to back them up. Kobe never led a team to a championship but you guys think he's great. There is players in the league who have titles with mvps to back them up. Kobe is not the best. He haven't proved it!

KOBE BRYANT SUCK!

Gangsta get your facts rights. MJ made the playoffs every with the Bulls. How you think in 86 he set a PLAYOFF record scoring 63 points? Pippen came in 88, you moron!

Timmy Z you don't make any sense either. MJ did get awards in the 80's. 1988 MVP, 1988 Defensive Player of the Year, 3 Scoring titles, 1988 & 89 1st All Defensive Team, 1985 All NBA 2nd Team(Rookie year), a gold medal, 1987-89 All NBA 1st Team. Started as an all-star his rookie year, 1985 Rookie of the Year, 1988 All-Star MVP, 2 Dunk Titles. Anyways, is that enough 80's awards for you? Great players make their mark by getting awards. What do you think the awards are for? To mark their greatness!

Well I dont think Kobe is the best player in the league, i think Duncan has been the best player in the league, because he wins games, he makes his teammates better on offense and on defense.

But the reason that people say kobe is the best player is because he's exciting, he has great individual performances,he breaks records, people love scoring, he also plays in a huge market in LA which build up his hype,

Kobe will never win an MVP because writers personally dont want kobe to win it. They would much rather have Dwayne Wade or Lebron win it b4 they have Kobe. Also when Kobe won the championships he was a huge part of them. Throughout the playoffs he averaged more points than Shaq. But when it came down to the finals Shaq not only had 30 points. but 12 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. Not even MJ could produce stats that could justify having him win a championship mvp if he was on shaq's team.
Stop shyin away from the fact that Pippen is a hall of famer, BJ armstrong was an all star, and also horace grant was an all star. BJ armstrong would have started if it wasnt for penny hardaway

I would like to comment that Jordan couldn't get very far in the playoffs without Pippen. Pippen was a ridiculous player. Also...let's not forget that the Lakers made the playoffs last year without shaq. Also, overall competition level in the NBA is a lot higher now than it was before. Kobe has to play against better players overall in my opinion. BUT, I don't think it's fair to compare them to each other. It's like comparing Oscar Robertson to Lebron...two different eras. But to say that Kobe isn't a great player is kind of incredulous.

Personally, I'm no Kobe fan either, I think he's a self centered ball hog, but the man can get the job done solo that's for sure. He's never MVP because most voters believe an MVP should not only be valuble himself, but should elevate the play of others arround him, and if anything Kobe drains other players on his team of their ability. That being said, he still is one of the great players in the game today simply because of the points he can put up. I forget the final total but last weekend i think he scored something along the lines of 130 points. when's the last time you heard of somebody doing that, and definatly nobody in his height range. Hope that helped a bit.

Mainly because he is the best in the league and there is not even a close second. People that say Kobe sucks really dont believe that,. If they did believe that they would have no clue what there talking about. I dont think people are that stupid are they? Including the guy asking the question. Like gangsta said.......what did Jordan do without Pippen?

Because he is the best player of post Jordan era!
By the way Jordan never made the playoffs without Pippen. His teams were never even .500 without a Pippen LOL

No one in the league right now can handle him one on one period. So I guess that might qualify as being the best but its not a one man sport. So the player that can get the job done while still being a team player and the team getting the job done as a whole consistently is probably who should be labeled as the best player in the league. GO MAVS!!!

Because this isn't old school basketball when there was more competition, that and Jordan isn't playing back in his prime....BTW awards don't make you a great player. For example no one really knew of Jordan back before he won his first title and MVP trophy, but he was a great player all through the 80's.

whats up there in case you had to enable to shot the ball in the final 2d i might elect Dirk,Ray or Kobe because of the fact they're so snatch and robust shooters.Dirk and ray can hit a clucth 3 pointer in case you ought to win a sport and etc.LeBron might nicely be snatch too yet he can use the atheltisicam, capability and the abilty to get to the rim to dunk in and to seal the sport. This basically maders what sort of a participant you like Darko

I know jdjw now. His real name is Brian Hart. He is actually a former Kobe fan. He was obsessed with him. One day, he asked Kobe to autograph his forehead and other items, but Kobe turned him down because Brian became too abusive. Now, Brian makes a living by hating on Kobe. We understand, Brian.
