I'm from Pennsylvania originally, and people make fun of me for saying "water" differently.

I pronounce it "wooder".

Forest - Farest
Orange - Are-ange
Creek - Crick...unless I'm reading it I say creek.

And I say soda...not coke or pop. It's SODA!!!

Do you say "you guys" - "ya'll" or what?
I say you guys, or ya's.

Sometimes I feel like a parrot because people are like "say dog, say cat, say this" etc. I live in Texas now and I've kinda lost my Philly accent...

I'm sure I say more but I'm kinda out of it tonight. If I think of more I'll add some.

I'm originally from Minnesota but live in a military community in Okinawa, Japan... SO - most of the friends I make pick out my accent very quickly. I believe Minnesotans tend to extend their long O's, and if the "O" is in the beginning of the word the rest of the word goes fast.

Forrest - Fo(hhh)rrrest
Orange - O(hhh)rrrange
Creek - Creek

POP!!! Not coke or soda... IT'S POP!

It's you guys... ya'll cracks me up...

I get the same thing - say this, say that... it's funny.

They usually want me to say words with the long-O sound and for some reason I always say the word, "BOAT".

I am very Southern and a heap of what I say makes the folk from up north take notice and a lot are drawn to it because it is a plain language with zillions of variations.

While in the USN, I was my homeport in Alemeda, CA, just north of 'Frisco. (What a culture shock!) Anyway, there was this exchange of words constantly:
"Where are you from?"
"New Jersey."
"Oh, you mean New Joisey?"
Perhaps, spelling insruction is not too effective out west!

I'm not American, so the things we say are pretty jumbled up, mostly because we were a British colony back then.
