None that have been able to show a difference from a placebo in a controlled study. I suppose if a gem had chemical properties it might, for instance if it was high in calcium carbonate grinding it up and eating it might work the same as an antacid tablet.

The answer is NO - other than the possibility of some placebo effect if you believe in them enough. I have been a professional gemmologist for over 40 years all of which time I have spent in contact with every gemstone it is possible to think of. If they were healing or beneficial in any way by now I would be close to immortal and endowed with super powers. In fact I am short, over-weight, use glasses to read and my hair is getting thin. Hardly sounds like Super Man material does it? (I'm sorry to say)

Yes, I believe they do - they're very subtle, but very powerful and the cool thing is you don't have to believe in them for them to work! This webpage has some good information on different types of crystals and the healing properties they have:

only if you are stupid enough to believe that they do and then your brain does some weird funky stuff that actually does "heal" you so it's not really the gems doing it, i mean if someone told you from birth that if you fold 10 peices of paper in half every day you will not get sick, you would actually beleive it and if you didn't do it you would probably get sick

If you believe in it, it has a psychological effect. That's all.
Gems are usually not assimilable by the human body and they do not contain rare elements which could help somehow the organism (except emerald maybe with the beryllium).
