You need a cup size also. Some dept. stores have bra size experts who can measure u for the correct size. 34 is only ur chest size, id u have small breasts an A cup could fit, if med breast a B cup, larger breasts call for a C or D, Proper measurements r essential for a good fit. A bra consultant has a formula between the chest size and fullest part of breasts to come up with ur proper size.

It depends on your body structure. Are you tall or big boned? If so you can go up a few sizes I would be more concerned with the cup size. If you are tall , c or d would be perfect. If you are short you would want to look more natural and stay with a b or c cup. 34 around sounds perfect, just make sure the cup size correlates to your body size.

ok, you say your breast size, but do you mean the size around the fullest part of your breasts or around your rib cage just under your breasts?
the proper way to measure for a bra is to:
1. measure around your rib cage just under your breasts ~ the top of the measuring tape should just barely touch the underside of your breasts. this will be your number size ~ for example: i'm a 32.
2. measure around the fullest part of your breasts.
3. subtract the number you get in step 1 above from the number you get in step 2. this will determine your cup size. i'm 36 at the fullest part, so 36-32=4. My cup size is a D.
if the difference is:
1" - A cup
2" - B cup
3" - C cup
4" - D cup
beyond that, i'm not sure, but i think it's 1 inch per cup size.
as many said here, it may be helpful to have someone size you like at victoria's secret and many department stores. then you will know you have the right size.

well you would be a 34 inch then but you need to find out what cup size you are, otherwise no bra will fit properly. Go to a store and get measured properly, you may find it embarassing but its their job so they will treat you properly, thats the only way to find out what size you are and it will be worth it cos if you get the wrong size bra not only will it be uncomfortable, but it could harm your breasts in years to come, especially if it is underwired. a, b, c, d, dd, e,... 34 only means the inches around the front of your chest to the back...
i wear a 36C... and have been told by my husband that they are a nice size but it really matters on who your trying to impress i guess.
