Is it possible to have an epidural with your second pregnancy after you had one in your first pregnancy?

You may have one with EVERY pregnancy, unless you develop a condition that would make an epidural unsafe for you (clotting problems or an infection)

Of course it is. Why would a prior birth hinder you from having an epidural the 2nd time around or 3rd or even 15th?

Unless you had some near fatal allergic reaction to the epidural the first time, there's nothing preventing you or anyone else from having future epidurals.

I had an epidural with my daughter and just recently had another epidural when I had lung surgery. I'm only 22 and my body responded well to both epidurals and had absolutely no problems whatsoever.

You can have an epidural as long as your not too dialated or too close to having your baby say 3 hours i think or something like that because it isnt healthy for your baby and can put it into stress, i was going to have an all natural birth but it went on toooooo long so i tell you the epidural was the best thing i have ever done :)

Oh hell yes! You can have one for each pregnancy. You've got at least 9mo in between them...what would go wrong?

Unless it was discovered you were allergic, why should it be a problem? Heck, unless you were too far dilated, I'd highly suggest it!

My sister did. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to. I would ask your doctor, but believe it is.
