Three months ago I bought through ebay a stand alone ECU (computer for my car).
The seller was in Canada (I'm in USA - California).
In his listing HE DIDN'T MENTIONED ANY COST OTHER than shipping and insurance(The total price was $950).

After successfully receiving the item I was contacted (via mail) by the shipping company who was asking me to pay $50.
I called once but couldn't find anyone on the phone due to different time zone and to my tight schedule.

Today I received a mail where the shipping company (purelator) is threatening me to pay because otherwise they will destroy my credit.

What should I do?

Looks like your seller didn't include the custom fee in the bidding. You will have to pay that fee. Here is more information from Ebay Canada about their shipping customs. Hope it helps you...

Plus, I could ask your self, are you suggesting those have been pirated DVD's? if so, that's unlawful and might get the broking banned from eBay. bypass to shopper provider.

The person who IMPORTS a product into a country is always responsible for the import fees.

It is not the seller's responsibility to tell you about the rules & laws of your country, just his.
