I prefer the MCG, its the greatest sporting ground in the southern hemisphere. Its like a collisium.

i think the MCG is better it is the home of football, it holds almost double the amount of people the telstra dome can fit. Also the first game of football ever played between scotch college and melbourne grammer was held on an oval that would be positioned right in the middle of the current MCG ground if it was still there today.

The"G" is the home of footy and cricket. It's the hallowed turf of footy legends ( Barrassi, Whitten,Cazaley etc...)It's been the holy grail of footy for over 100 years, and has an awesome reputation as a world class stadium. Cricket lovers all over the world revere it.

Hell, it's most probably one oft he top 3 stadiums in the world. Billions of people know about it. It's famous .How many have heard of Telstra dome? Compared to the MCG, not many.
Give the dome a 100 years it might come close ,but at present the "G" wins hands down.

I think that the public are warming to The Dome because it has a roof, also the train commuters can get home that bit quicker after a match. Especially on a Friday night.
In contrast, the MCG has the aura of being hallowed ground, however due to the size of the oval, and the shadows cast from the grandstands, the spectators can miss important passages of play.
Night games are preferred at the Dome on cold nights.

MCG! grand final is played there...where the eagles won yay! the roof on th td isnt that great, ruins the idea of the footy bein a winter sport. i mean everyone loves one of those games with the rain and the drenched feild its footy at its best its where the good players shine...every1 loves the old scrappy footy with every1 slipping, and mud everywhere adds some more excitement

Telstra Dome because it has a roof cover so when it's raining outside the roof is covered and nobody gets wet.

for me its the MCG,its been around for 100 + years and is the spiritual home of Aussie rules, you cant beat the G with 95,000 to 100,000 people on say anzac day or the grand final or even the boxing day test, great atmosphere, great buzz

note:telstra dome is great in those cold winter months when the crowd is around 35,000-50,000 and also for when they host rugby matches-as you are closer to the action.
