Yes! They do take into account the new child, at least in Michigan.
With one bio child in the home, they will reduce your calculated take home pay by 10.9% which will in affect reduce your earnings and your obligation. The difference will not be that much because it is a part of a larger formula. But they DO take into account another child-they have to. It is not fair for a father not to be able to have another family while his ex wife has the kids all to herself the way courts are set up now. A man should be able to have more kids. The women have that choice, why can't a man. I am tired of hearing people say the men have to think of their other kids first when they have almost NO say in how those children are raised and how the support is spent. Some men want to be able to raise a family with their new wife and should not be judged for doing so if they are responsible fathers.

Chances are, no. My ex took my to court after he had kids with his secretary....I mean new wife, sorry. The judge didn't care about his kids he is having now, he put both of our incomes into his formula, and wow, he had to pay me more.......he hasn't taken me back to court since then, amazing.
Take care of your child. I know you have probably left her for some reason or other, but she has your child under her custody and it is your responsiblility to take care of that child financially. Please do, just from my life, the little money I get doesn't cover everything, the rest my new husband has to cover. It isn't his job, but he does it.
Please don't be a deadbeat daddy.

Er, no.
The thinking is that you already knew your obligations before you decided to start a new family.
Better be careful; they won't calculate support for this new baby based on your previous one or any other subsequent families you think you can afford, either.
So, if you have five wives/girlfriends in a row and each of them has children, you could owe more than you make.

From what I've heard, they will increase your child support because now you have more responsibility. No more pizza and beer for you, dude.

They do take into consideration major life events that would affect your finances. It may or may not lower your payments.... it all depends on what you pay and how much you make.
